What to wear to a summer wedding

Heat, a long day and a dress code on the invitation. Here's how to look celebratory and stay comfortable.

01Read the dress code

Black tie optional means a floor-length dress or a dark suit; cocktail means a midi or a sharp suit; garden or casual leaves room for linen and florals.

02Pick fabrics that breathe

Linen, cotton poplin, silk and viscose keep you cool. Skip heavy satin and polyester for an outdoor ceremony.

03Colours and prints

Leave white, ivory and anything bridal-adjacent to the couple. Soft brights, florals and jewel tones photograph beautifully.

04Shoes you can stand in

Block heels, wedges or elegant flats beat stilettos on grass. Bring a light layer for the evening.

Style is discovered, not dictated.

01

Every body gets the good edit.

Petite, tall, plus, adaptive, gender-free. No one gets the leftovers, and nobody is told to hide, fix or flatter anything. Wear what you love.

02

Real pieces, honest prices.

Every product comes from a real retailer, at the price they list. Nothing invented, nothing sponsored, no one paying to be first.
